Pretty good machine, March 23, 2012 This review is from: Dell Inspiron i15RN-3647BK 15-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black) (Personal Computers) After 28 days the mother board died. I had it repaired under warranty and it has been running like a charm since. No problems, no cost or inconvenience. It is super fast for what I use it for. Mainly for internet browsing and word processing (I'm not crazy about Word Starter). I have the machine about 4 months now and I'm still discovering things about it. It is super fast. For what I do the i3 would have been fine but I'm not a techy so I didn't know about this stuff before I bought it. If all you do is surf and documents then save some money and look into the i3. I imagine if you're into gaming, streaming or whatever this would be a good machine to look at. I bought my daughter a Dell and after 4 years it's still going strong. That's why I purchased this machine. Except for the issue with the mother board, which I think was defective from the start, this machine is really great.

Not good for $650, February 25, 2012 By This review is from: Dell Inspiron i15RN-3647BK 15-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black) (Personal Computers) The computer itself is a nice upgrade from the N5010, but the lack of a Synapsis touch pad is really killing the usability. You no longer have the options like "Momentum Scrolling" or "Tap Zones" or an easy middle click. The Dell drivers are pretty low on features unlike the Synapsis. With this computer, there is an option for a middle click, but it is nearly impossible as you must hit both (left and right) buttons at the same time. I had a lot of practice, but it is still super hard to actually make it middle click and not left click. If there's a way to middle click on the touch part, I'm all ears.
Had the machine for 4 weeks so far, will have an update in the future.
Good:
Processor and video upgrade.
Fan is not as quiet as on some Apples, but so far it does not disturb a completely quiet classroom when playing Hulu.
Vibrates quite a lot if kept on for more than a couple hours.
Video playback is great, plays HD videos smoothly. Crysis 2... Read more
